This morning I boarded a 8:55 train in Luzern and traveled to Lauterbrunnen in the heart of the Swiss Alps. From Lauterbrunnen, I hopped on a gondola where I boarded another train at 5000 feet and traveled for 19 minutes where I arrived in Murren at around 12:30. Whew!

After I arrived in Murren and settled into my hotel room, I decided to walk downhill about two miles to Gimmelwald; a beautiful small Swiss village on the side of the mountain. I was looking for a place for lunch. I did take a gondola back to Murren. I was too worn out to hike two miles up hill.
I found a beer garden in Gimmelwald where I also ordered a cheese plate with local cheeses, chutney, meat and great fresh bread. Of course I had to have a pint of their local brew to enjoy with a view of the alps.

Wow, the alps are just beautiful!!!
What a view!
