Yesterday morning we walked to the bus station in Prague, about one half mile from our hotel and took a chartered bus to Krakow, Poland. The seven hour road trip covered 340 miles. There were two stops along the way. The first stop was a coffee and restroom break and the second stop was at a charming small town in the Czech Republic country side for lunch.

The night before leaving for Krakow, I stopped at a Starbucks in the new section of Prague. The next morning, while walking to the bus station in Prague , I passed by an old synagogue dating to the mid 16th century.

Walwel Cathedral is Poland’s national church. Like Westminster Abbey in London, most of Poland’s king’s and notable historical figures may be found in the national mausoleum. The cathedral is enclosed by Walwel fort and was once the capital of Poland hundreds of years ago.
