Second Day Stockholm

Since today is my last day in Stockholm, my plan was to make it a combination of museums, a few historic sites and exploring the city.

National Museum of Sweden

I woke up early and made a 25 minute walk from the Sheraton to the Swedish History Museum (free entry). The museum has thousands of historical artifacts discovered throughout Scandinavia going back thousands of years, including a large gallery dedicated to the Vikings. To do this museum justice a person should spend at least 3 hours there, I was there 90 minutes, I was trying to make up for lost time. I walked 15 minutes to the National Museum of Sweden and spent two hours looking at the highlights. This is Sweden’s major art museum and well worth a visit. I had to cut my visit short because I wanted to explore the Royal Palace.

Royal Palace of Sweden
Throne Room
Hall of Mirrors (inspired by Versaille)
Parliament (Sweden is a constitutional monarchy)
I avoided trying Texas Bar-B-Que in Stockholm
Old Part of the City

Stockholm is a beautiful city and a great place to explore on foot. After touring the palace, I decided it was time to explore the city and find some Swedish meatballs. I did not find Swedish meatballs, but I find a place to have a sandwich and a beer on a crowded street.

Tomorrow morning I leave early in the morning for Copenhagen.

Sounds like Day 2 was better, and you got a lot accomplished.
