Exploring The Hague

This morning my first stop was to visit the Mauritshuis Museum of Art. This is a small museum which contains works from some well known artists. One of my favorite artists, Johannes Vermeer, is well represented in this museum.

My next visit was to the Escher Museum. This museum is located in what was the Royal Residence in The Hague when the Royals were not in Amsterdam. The Royals used this building as their home in the Hague until 1982.

After visiting the Escher Museum and the weather not looking very good, I decided to take a 1.5 mile walk to the Kunst Art Museum. The 1.5 mile walk led me down embassy row.

The Kunst museum was built in 1936 and it feels like the museum has never been updated. The architecture is Art Deco in style. While the interior feels very dated, this museum has many well known pieces of art. I ended up having a very nice early dinner in the museum cafe.
